Welcome to Epic Training
Complete the HIPAA Acknowledgement to begin. Then use the navigation on the left to complete the training tasks.
Training Instructions
Follow these steps to complete tasks 1–6 in the Epic EHR Training Module:
- Acknowledge HIPAA: When the page loads, a HIPAA Acknowledgement modal will appear. Check the box labeled "I agree to comply with HIPAA regulations" and click the Acknowledge button.
- Search Patient: In the left sidebar, under "Navigation," click the Search Patient button. Enter a patient’s name (e.g., "Jeremiah Johnson") or MRN (e.g., "123456789") in the search field, then click the Search button. Click on the patient’s name in the search results to select them.
- View Patient Chart: In the left sidebar, under "Navigation," click the Patient Chart button to view the selected patient’s details (e.g., Name, MRN, DOB).
- Add Clinical Note: In the Patient Chart section (after completing Task 3), click the Add Note button at the bottom. Enter a note in the text area (e.g., "Patient reports feeling well today"), then click the Submit Note button.
- Schedule Appointment: In the Patient Chart section, click the Scheduling button at the bottom. Fill in the appointment details (e.g., Date: "2025-05-20", Time: "09:00", Reason: "Follow-up"), then click the Schedule Appointment button.
- Place an Order: In the Patient Chart section, click the Place Order button at the bottom. Select an order type (e.g., "Lab"), enter details (e.g., "CBC"), optionally check the "Stat" box, and click the Place Order button.
